Golf - "Drive Until..." Ad Campaign
Chapter 1, titled "Courage", tells the story of a man who is working up the courage to propose to his girlfriend.
In chapter 2, "Time", the same man spends a whole night driving around with his friends before arriving at a church in the morning for his own wedding.
The first two chapters aired on television in May and June, and included a call-to-action for viewers to help write the third chapter. A six-week Facebook campaign ensued where Facebook fans could actively participate in the creation of the third Golf television ad. They were invited to vote on the script, the Golf model and colour, the music, and the edit for the last scene. They were even able to witness the entire fourteen-hour television shoot via a live stream on Facebook. The final spot was posted on the web with a long list of credits, including the names of all the fans who participated on Facebook (and who agreed to publicize their names). For the brand that democratized mobility, the "Drive Until?" campaign democratized advertising for Facebook fans. Here is our first ever "fan sourced" TV ad, which now airs on national television.
